I've often wondered about an item on Ebay and thought to ask the members here if a 'NIB vintage I-beam whiz-bang stunt kit autographed by the designer' was the kind of thing a guy would want to have in his possession--and then thought better of asking for the board's opinion because the act of doing so would tip everyone else off that such an item was up for auction.
Let's hear it folks, can we work together and help each other out by deciding on sensible values for an item and keep anyone from overpaying on ebay or would we merely make the effect of supply and demand greater by discussing an item in the forum and thereby drive up prices?
Would you advise the rest of the forum that an engine you need to fill out your complete collection is basically a clunker, never any good when it is new, just to keep the price down on an item you want desperately?
