Mis- Behave

Can anyone out there tell me when the Johnny Casburn Mis-Behave came out?? Is it OT legal or is it only classic?

I have looked through every issue and each page of all 12 of the 1952 issues of MAN> Nada. If I recall it didn't come out until I was in high shcool in 1954-55. I'll keep searching. I can't find my list of OTS from the Circle Burners.

Ty, I believe you are right. I seem to remember from sometime back that I found something on that . I DID fly a MisBehave in 1948 or so, but it was called the "Little MisBehave", and DID NOT have flaps. I have been unable to find that plane ANYWHERE. I do know that it was a kit as I built nothing BUT kits back then. Other than the flaps, it looked exactly like the version that I have a kit for that is the later version.

I guess I will have to build something really different for OT.

Her's some more info on the Miss Behave which isn't going to help you one bit but will give you a little more background info.

In 1945 there were two M/B's, a small one designed around the Ohlsson 23, Span-24", chord 41/2", Flat bottom section. A small model. Very clever engineering, the fuselage was made from 1/8 sq. stock cemented to 1/64 mahogany veneer which had the pattern printed on the inside. Rest of fuse covered with same material when assembled. Silkspan on wings, sheet tail assy. Many of us in St. Paul, Minn. started with this combo. I have the plans for this one.

There was also the Miss Behave for the Ohlsson 60, about 36" span, very similar to the baby except the wing was also covered with the veneer. About 1946 the kit was revised to a solid balsa wing. These models were very popular and flew quite well except not very aerobatic which we didn't know how to do anyway!

I am still searching for a plan for the 60 size model, anybody out there who can help? Remember, this was all before the symmetrical sectioned M/B's were on the market. I don't know when the first of these hit the market so no help in dating them. I wouldn't think it was after 1953 though as the Nobler and Chief had been well known by then. Unfortunately, Mister Casburn didn't date his plans but did run a hobby busines in Fort Worth some years ago. I went to visit him once and asked if any of the old plans or info was still around and unfortunately it wasn't.

Sorry, I forgot the proper name of the smaller model. It was "Baby Miss Behave", the larger was simply "Miss Behave".

I have a Miss Behave Streamliner kit that shows a biplane option. Any idea when this was first produced? The kit has a late 40's appearance.
