Anybody know the shaft and thread size of an Enya 45 model 6001? It ain't 1/4 by 28 for sure-would be too simple that way. I'm trying to use a 1/2" shaft extension and need the shaft, have the extension. Anybody got one available they will not be needing and how much? Thanks!

The 2001 Tower catalog has a chart of useful info on engine specs that says 7mm diameter x 1mm (pitch) for Enya's in that size range. Of course they don't list data for the 6001 model you have. If you have a mike or calipers, the major diameter should be about .270" and it should measure .039" from point to point on the thread. Metric sizes should be easily available at a decent hardware store, unlike OS .15 prop nuts. OS has seen fit to use a wonderful English size, 7/32-32. I can buy a tap for that at $40. A #12-28 would be about $7, but the nuts still are not easily available at a good fastener store. Be glad you have metric threads. For spinner adapters, look for "coupler nuts" and work from there. For a shaft extension, you should be able to open up the hole and counterbore in a 1/4" extension or sleeve a 5/16", but you'll have to come up with a custom made extension nut, no way around that. Thanks Steve. Calipers get about .265 on shaft. Seems I recall from my reloading days that bullet diameter for 7MM is .284, 6.5 MM is .264 etc. Anyway best bet will be to take the old Enya to the hardware store and see what I can come up with.
