Actually two good reasons:
1. You get to eat all the chocolate
2. The plastic molds the chocolates come in are great for mixing small batches of epoxy!
So merry Xmas everyone and enjoy all those chocolates!

The time to get Combat streamers is the day after Hallowe'en. Usually orange and black plastic tablecloths. Once I picked up a whole bunch of them for 10 cents apiece.

I've taken to keeping an empty (and flattened) cereal box handy in the workshop. When I want to mix any amount of epoxy, I just tear off a piece of the cereal box that's big enough and use it as a "pallette". Cheap, easy and disposable...

Now is the time of year to get 1 or 2 daily calenders. You know the paper thing we used before PDA, MS Outlook, etc. The 3X5" pages are just the right size for mixing epoxy. I put a couple cotterpins through the holes to keep the stack together, and just pull a couple off after I mix each batch. It usually lasts all year.

The daily cartoon ones work too, and add a little humor to boot.

One little trick I've read about - get a stack of those little paper ketchup containers at ARBY's. Use them when you need to measure relatively large amounts of epoxy (e.g. EZ-Lam, when you're skinning foam wings or doing layups). If you must, weigh it. The nice thing about the cups is that you can squeeze just about all the epoxy out of them.

When I needed to mix EZ-Lam, I used a transparent film canister. Make two marks, fill to the marks. Then stir. At the end, when there's a little left, upend it onto some newspaper or something, and when it hardens, flex the canister and it all pops out.
