STREISAND SINGS THE BLUES, JUDGE FAVORS PILOT
A California judge last week threw out a lawsuit filed by singer and
actress Barbra Streisand against a helicopter pilot for posting a picture
of her Malibu mansion on his Web site. The $10 million suit that alleged
invasion of privacy, violation of the state's anti-paparazzi law, and
improper use of the image was dismissed as frivolous in a tentative
46-page ruling. The judge also said he would order Streisand to pay the
defendant's legal fees in the final ruling. The defendant, Ken Adelman,
a retired software engineer, had been working to complete a photo study
of the California coastline to highlight threats to the natural
environment. Adelman told the "Los Angeles Times" that he had spent
more than $100,000 in estimated legal fees defending the suit. See the

I really object to this site being used for political (left-right-center) political statements. Aren't things hot enough with Fox35's, pipes, BOM, ........

If you feel like making political statements--or religious, or ..., write a letter to your local newspaper, or call a local radiio talk show host. There are lots of outlets for these opinions, but only a few for CL.

Alan - if I may comment - IT IS NOT political in any way. It's just a statement of fact showing that the small guy does not always get screwed. I see it as a little bit of information that should not insult anyone - if anything, it is, as one reader posted,
"heartwarming". As a pilot myself, and you can bet that there are many on this site, I see it as real and welcome justice.
But, if it is truly that bad, I'm sure Leonard will remove it.
However, I hope not.
Remember, there are also many lawsuits in model aviation.

I try never to forgot primary occupation of our host. I too have some *slightly* stronger words to use in describing the woman.

Then again, she is a fairly reliable indicator of how things are going in this country: When she is screaming and ranting, things are pretty much going my way for a change.

What can also be annoying is some dufus hovering over your house in a helicopter. At the bottom of the Grand Canyon, I found myself wishing for a shoulder-fired heat seeker to return the area to its natural serenity.

I won't comment on Streisand's politics or petty behavior about this particular incident, but the fact remains that she's one of the greatest female vocalists on the planet.

Randy Cuberly is the only stunt grunt I know who can actually SING!

(I don't believe Limbaugh likes the bloody helicopters hovering over his Florida beachside estate either..)

Actually I don't believe the guy really hovers over her house. The intention of the site was to observe erosion of the oceanside. Barbaras property picture is just one of many up and down the coast. She was notified of the picture of her property and attacked. Don't even know if the guy knew it was hers or not, it was not the focus of his work.

Love her or hate her, I don't particularly like the material, but she has one hell of a voice. I didn't see any politics in the original post either, though Babs partner recently did a hack piece on Reagan so bad that they put it on Showtime where most of those who did tune in switched over to Cartoon planet to get the taste of bad acting out of their mouth.

Nothing like Deputy Dog to do that.
