Can someone give me the CG for my Dave Platt Tom-Cat? The plans do not say. With the ASP .12 engine I have on it is a little nose heavy.

Try 15%-20%. The TOMCAT has a long nose moment and it's very easy to end up nose heavy. Greg, what does your TOMCAT weigh at this point? Didn't you say you installed a 3 ounce fuel tank in your model? You can replace the 3oz tank with a 1.5oz one, and still get adequate duration. Good Luck with it.

Tony, I,m going with a 2oz. tank. I can see now I will need a tounge muffler. I put the one that came with it on tonight and, holding the tip of the wing the nose did a 90 degree nose dive. Not sure of the weight yet. You say to try 15 to 20 percent, what is that mean?

Greg, 15-20% at the average chord point. Given a 30" span, The Tomcat's average chord is approx 7.5"in from the tip or wing root.
Lessee...15%, I think that will be .975" back from your leading edge
Please measure your wing to be sure.....My plans show a 7.5" root and
a 5.5" tip.

Doesn't that have a swept leading edge? Your numbers (or description)don't work if it does. And what does the span have to do with it? If you're going with average chord to figure the setback, you need to go to the point of the average chord, i.e. midspan, then go back the 1". If you do it at 1" from the L/E at the root, it will still be nose heavy.
