making computer images to edit for paint jobs

Wanted to be able to play with paint schemes on computer. Had tried programs on my computer, but they didn't seem able to do enough. Have tried CAD programs in the past and they were toooo tough for me to learn. Years ago I used to have Adobe Illustrator and could usually hack around enough to get where I was trying to go. Well, I checked out prices for new drawing programs and was shocked at CorelDraw Graphics and Adobe Illustrator prices. Tried downloading a few shareware programs that were pretty bad. Finally Found CorelDraw Essentials for only $69. It is basically version 9 of CorelDraw and Photo-Paint without all the extra bells and whistles of the big Graphics package. So I tried to draw my all-red Legacy to play with colors I might add this winter. Not professional pics, but I think these will work pretty well for playing around with color schemes. The first two are outlines of the red plane. The last is a possible color scheme I might add:

I did this a few years ago with MS Paint. Save the outlines without color. Then add your color and design. I saved them for future reference. However I was not smart enough to save them to a disk and lost them when a virus wiped out my hard drive.
