Bob Whitley finished his Semi-Scale Dago Red P-51 and it's really nice. Detailed down to the Flames, exhaust and Lettering under the canopy. Wing is scale too including the tips. He offered a flight to me and I couldn't pass it up. One of the best flying stunt planes I’ve ever flown. I could pull a hard corner and it went wherever you wanted it to. Good line tension, easy to get a flat bottom. A PA 51 on a muffler powers it. He started out with a GMA-Jett 51, likes the PA a lot more. Hoping to get some pictures this weekend.

Nope, no P-51 for me yet. It's on the board, but I lost interest when my wife told me I couldn't use the Foxy Lady paint scheme.

Not forget the Joe Berry Mustang from Flying Models in the fall of 1970. I have done some research on this plane and believe it to be classic "legal". The article talks about flying it in March of "70". The ME-109 came out in April of 1970 and was built and designed two years before the published article. Jack has said that Don McGovern would stock pile articles and the ME-109 was one and so was Simon's Shoestring flown at the 69 Nat's and published in Sept. 1971 FM. It is easy to build and most likely a Jack Sheeks design but gave Joe the credit. Maybe to inspire Joe to become a lifer. Simple building for .35 to .40 sized engines. Jim J.

I saw the airplane's first flight in the all black brunette version before any markings were painted on it, it looked very sinister.
