Specifically,

Headed to 154 degrees west and 0 degrees north. On Jan 9th, hopefully with my new digital camera in hand I can post a picture of the lauch of Telstar 14 - EdS Satellite.

The only problem with this scene is that Jim will be on a ship with a rocket launch platform in the middle of a big ocean. Probably not very many palm trees around there. It will still be an "interesting" trip for him.

I am here in Long Beach and aboard the LP, I will have internet connectivity throughout the launch campaign! Yeah! Steve, you are correct the closest land will be Christmas Island.
