Every day you'll see or experience something in your child that makes you love them more than you did the day before. Some day's it might be a little harder to pick it out but, when the day's over it'll be there.

Doug, read what Ted said, it is so true! I have two great sons and now a Granddaughter to love and spoil. I really missed having the "little" guys around, they grew up so fast...... but this little girl is surely making up for it!

She and Mom are both doing just fine. I was so proud of my wife she was so strong through the whole thing. She was in labor, contractions two minutes apart, since 7 am. Then at 5pm the dr came in and said Stevie's pelvis wasnt going to let her through even though she was so little. So we had a C-section and all went well!

A piece of acvice: some women that undergo C-sections may feel bad for not having given birth the traditional way. You can help delivering Momma Stevie from this snare.

She might esperience pain when breast feeding, becaus the uterus contracts when the baby starts sucking. It goes away in some weeks.

Make sure she breast feeds for at least one year! It's a guarranty of good health.

Has she done the tst for fenilketonuria?

She'll be "Kathy" for short...

Amparo (support)

Or you can name her after one of her grandmothers, and if they have compatible names you can use both, like Eleanor Ruth, etc.

But don't fool yourself, the final word is gonna be Momma Moom's...

We were thinking of Claire Marie but Stevie said from the first moment she saw her all could she think of was Grace.

It was through God's Grace that this all worked out so well. We had the best labor nurse and she was just perfect to keep Stevie calm cool through the whole thing. She was a true God-send just as our baby is.

My wife told me :"It's time!", and I saw she meant business.

I drove her to the "Maternidade Praça XV", a public hospital. This is not a plus (being a public hospital) in Brasil, but this particular place was special.

It's ran by a team of altruistic public employees (a very rare item down here) and thay give courses for poor people, and they even have a "milk bank"

Well, anyhow, I drove her there, but I had a recording session with "Baby Consuelo", a well know local pop star at Columbia Records. And I couldn't miss it!

After all, I needed the "big bucks", specially when my son was coming to this world, Pampers used to cost a fortune...

One day I was driving near the place where I fly today, and I saw a pharmacy with an ad:

PAPMERS ON SALE! 10 CRUZADOS FOR A 20 DIAPER PACKAGE!

I stepped on the brakes, almost caused an accident!

Back to the studio...

I was calling the hospital between each take, the telephone operator was already treating me on a first name basis.

After the 20th call I got the answer I wanted:

"It's a boy and he's healthy, the mother is just fine"!

When I walked back to the studio Baby Consuelo and the producer told me they couldn't use an "stupid looking musician" like me and told me to get lost and go see the baby.

BTW, I got payed as if I had recorded all night. That was nice.

I didn't sleep at all, and next morning I had to do I-don't-remember- what at CPAD (Publishing Company of the Assemblies of God).

I must have been looking very "spiritual", pastor Nemuel Kessler asked me if I had seen God or what, and I remember saying "Well, almost..."

He was called Ramiro, after my father.

Eight days later I took him to church, and pastor Tulio Barros lifted him in his arms and the whole congregation prayed for him.

The hospital encouraged us to "milk" Liisa and keep it in the freezer, it would eventually help some mother that had not enough milk.

Since Liisa was blessed with more milk than Ramiro could handle, the freezer was gettin' full of baby milk.

One morning the phone rang, it was some "big shot" from Globo TV, his wife had no milk and the hospital had given him our number, could we help?

I was more than glad to get those bottles out of the freezer and I drove to TV Globo and handed him the stuff.

The guy wanted to know me how much I was asking for the milk, and I said the price was the same it cost us, nothing...

Wow, this story could go on forever, but I don't want to clutter the signal...

A little late , but congrats!!

Daughters are joyful heartbreakers. By that I mean they bring you so much joy but have the power of your heartbreak firmly in their grasp. I have 2 daughters, Holly and Heather, both nowe married and with families, they together are responsible for 6 of my 15 grandchildren, Heather has a little girl named Grace (Gracie to us). It was really hard for me when the left home.

I also have a daughter-in-law Roseanna born on 12/31, her and my son Chris are responsible for yet another 4 of my 15 grandchildren.

If you detect the slightest bit of pride in this reply, you're right. I wish you and your wife aqnd new daughter all the best there is for a family. The world's pretty ugly for kids now, but strong loving parents can make the difference.
