Hi Guys; Anybody have a picture of the original Viking box, or can give me an idea of how it was painted? I don't seem to have magazines old enough to have Viking ads. Thanks

Hi JIm. After searching my Air Trails I finally found the introductory ad for the Viking. It was introduced in the March 1951 Air Trails. I have yet to look in MAN or FM. It was painted very simple. The fuselage & empanage were painted a dark color. Blue or Black. The wing had the same color painted along the leading edge, the root and tip. It started at the wing root at the te, went forward at a very slight angle to the LE, curved along the LE (about 1 inch from the edge), out to the tip and curved back to the TE and was very narrow at this point, about 1/2 inch. The Vampire was introduced in the same ad. $5.75 for the Viking and $4.50 for the Vampire.
In looking at the add very carefully, as it is small, the bottom of the fuselage appears to be the same color as the wing, ie; white or yellow. Hope this helps.

Hey Ty; Thank you very much. That gives me alot to go on, and I can wing it a little. I have some old Air Trails from 54 and 55 but couldn't find any thing in them on the Viking. If I remember right F&B was located in Denver Co. They must not have kitted the Viking for very long. Thank's again
I think they went out of business or were bought out about 1953 as no further adds are found after that year.

The Viking is good looking airplane, are you building the Brodak kit of it? Post a pic when its done. I will be getting a Viking soon myself. 
Hi Ironbomb; I am just about ready for the color coats of dope on mine. I built mine from Bill Schmidt's plans. I am planning on flying it with a Super Cyclone on spark. Also have it set up to run a Fox 59 glo.

HI Jim. Just an update about F&B. I found an advertisement from them in a April 1955 Hobbies For Young Men (renamed Air Trails). Seems they branched out into automobiles and boats. Same planes as in the 53 mags.
