Shame LSU can't now play USC. Love to see that LSU defense come up against that USC offense.

I thought the BCS was supposed to eliminate split national titles.

Here's to college football: the only sport in existence without a playoff system.

How does a team that is ranked #2 before it's last game win said game convincingly and fall to #3, while the #3 team wins its final game less convincingly and climbs to #2, considering the fact that both teams had identical records? While, indeed, the Sugar Bowl provided great entertainment, the real national champion played in and convincingly won the Rose Bowl!

I mean no offense to the LSU Tigers or their fans. They had a great season, too.

Maybe we need Brett Buck to write new software for the BCS computers that would actually work. Bet he would be paid quite well for something like that!

Hmm,

Last time I checked Sunnyvale was a suburb of the South San Francisco Bay. Did they have an earthquake that moved it all the way to the South End of the state? Hmm, I know it's a conspiracy to hide to real truth!!!

Well, regardless of who shot John, the Louisiana taxpayers are gonna take in the shorts yet again.

2+ million for a college football coach is simply obscene. Louisiana state workers are among the lowest-paid in the nation, and their health-care "benefits" are a joke.

But what never ceases to amaze me is the state worker, who is barely making a subsistence wage, cheering the team on and seeing no problem with the lop-sided pay scale.

Which, of course, is why it can exist...

Bob,
"Both teams?" Weren't the Tulsa Golden Huricanes in one also?

Cheer up! As a Big Ten fan, I don't exactly have a lot to be
proud of this last bowl season.

Hey, I'm with the Pac 10, even though UW sucked this year, Washington State, California and USC all won their bowl games. And pretty convincingly, too.

It's just a shame that they can't use the bowl system to stage a real playoff and forget the polls and computer nonsense.

Sigh...

Hope the Huskies are better next year.

Scott,

Sorry, I left the Beavers out. It was Oregon and UCLA that got pounded.
