After talking to pres. Gary Harris, I offered to send you the latest info. about buying engines from someone we don't know. Here is some update information that we all should know about regarding some stolen engines, along with other things, from the Clarence Bull estate. About two weeks ago (more or less) the items were stolen. The attached email from Bob Stalick explains most of it. Since those of us who participated in the Salen Arts and Air Festival may have been exposed to someone trying to sell some of the engines, it is important to be carefull if approached by any stranger selling engines. Bob Stalick, or the attorney Bill Bromley, should be contacted if you have any info. that could be used to help solve this theft. Bob Stalick's phone # is (541) 928-8101. Bob is the president of the National Free Flight Society, and as such is a very logical contact for related information. He is also close, living in Albany. Should you be approached by anyone, try to get a description etc. Any information will help. Above all, don't let the cat out of the bag! At this point it is best that he has the freedom to keep trying to sell stuff. The more he tries, the more opportunity he has to make mistakes. We assume that it is a "he", but be on guard if anyone is selling stuff.

Gentlemen:
I was informed this AM that some or many of Clarence Bull's engine collection has been stolen and has been offered for sale at a hobby shop in Springfield, Oregon. The person who came to the shop with the engines noted that he had a lot more at home.
The engines were identified as Clarence's engines by a person in the shop who recognized a number of them. The engines were pristine ignition engines, many with B, Y & O props and sales tags with Clarence's writing on them.
I am unaware of the number and exact identification of these engines, but if you come into contact with some suspicious engines, please let me know at your earliest convenience, or contact the attorney: Bill Bromley at 541-343-4700.
FYI: Clarence's son, Hank, recently committed suicide, and the entire Clarence collection has been unprotected for a couple of months. An attorney has just been appointed executor of the estate and will be securing the property immediately.
