Get her an ARF Flite Streak and a LA 25 . It will fly great and she will feel like she built it , and it will be properly built to fly.See Ya NEAL:)

#4 sourceIf I had to pick between the two, I'd go for the junior.
Half-A's just seem to be too marginal compared to larger airplanes.
A larger airplane is not much harder to build, other than some more sanding and finish time and just handles better.
Flight Streaks want to balance on the spar, but for a beginner, I'd try for a little nose heavy and gear the elevator down a bit so it does not have a lot of throw. You can always move the CG back and crank up the elevator throw once she has the hang of the airplane for a full tank's worth of flying. It's harder to regain enthusiasm if she shatters it on the first flight.

HI Steve. When my two daughters wanted a u-control plane like "daddies", I had them build the Flite Streak Trainer, the solid wood version, with Fox .15's on them. They learned a lot of techniques and I had them explain each part and it's function. They learned to fly and soloed very quickly on their planes. They got a kick out of making and painting their own planes and the big brother was not allowed to touch them. They did end up prefering free flight, but built their own models. I was heavy into free flight at the time and that may have influenced them more than I realized at the time. Now my oldest daughter is teaching my 8 year old grandson how to build and fly.
The big question and I should have asked it first, is do they now fly? Or will this be a first? I would go with the Flite Streak Trainer if they have never flown, but with the Flite Streak Junior if they have. I'm not sure if you have either model yet or have both but not sure which to build. Ask them which one they want to do.

#6 sourceThe oldest one has got the hang of it. Understanding the concept of flight. I just got her an Arf trainer which will be powered by a 10-15. She can smak the heck out if it till she gets her Jr. Flight Streak built. (ordered it last night from Brodak)
