The Bergen County Controline Flyers are a step closer to obtaining a permanent flying site! After meeting with the Parks people, Rich and I convinced them to provide us with a year 'round site to compliment our excellent flying site in the parking lot of a swimming pool. A curb has been removed and some ground up asphalt spread to allow a full 180' of flying area, and there are markers where we would like safety fencing. This site will be improved further in the Spring, and we have permission to fly off of the grass adjacient!
Rich has been the "sparkplug" here, and after the apparent loss of the Middlesex flying site, this is really great news.

It was cold and I was shocked at the progresss. I will take a picture and post it here soon!

The Pictures are of Rich checking out the fill and of the sign on the way into the park.

Just pretend that you are flying the pattern begining from inverted flight - then no one will know that your not flying backwards - but your controls will be!

That sounds like a wild challenge, think you could do it? I could only do it if I was riding in the plane.

I have flown the pattern in reverse order - on a dare. I entered and exited the maneuvers in the normal way, but simply started at the four-leaf clover and worked back to the wingover. That turned out to be very difficult and I'm surprised the airplane and I stayed in one piece.

Hope the launch goes well and you can get home soon. The last time I was on one of those ships, it was a drilling platform and I was one of the divers.

Of course - I will do it for you when flying season re-arrives!!!!
Brrrrr, to those temps back there listed on the WX Channel. But from experience, they seem to give a possible worst case scenario! What really happens is something a little different, but still COLD!
