Got a message from Windy today saying that he expected to get out of the hospital on Monday. Didn't even know he was in. Anybody have any info?

On a more serious note, would it be possible for you to find out for us what ailed Windy and how he is doing?

The word that I get is that he is going to have a double hernia corrected.... more that likely the result of not building light enough. He'll be sore, but this is a fairly simple and common procedure.

I got an email forom Windy. He did say that he was going in for a hernia surgery on Monday.

Winfred reports that his recovery is way behind schedule, but that he hopes to be in the shop in a week or two. He cites "never wanting to go through this again" as the reason that he is stepping so gingerly.

Recovering from surgery is widely divergent. Just look at baseball players. One guy goes through surgery for a labrum tear and is back pitching (or at least throwing pain free) in 10 weeks. Another guy has identical surgery and it's 18 months before he can really throw again. Now granted, these are athletes and the demands are considerably higher, but the pricipal is the same.

Windy should go as slow as he needs to. When it's healed, it's healed.

Gents - thanks for asking about Windy. He is recovering as expected. There was a slight post-surgery complication but it has been addressed. He will be in the shop part-time until the end of the month with, of course, an abbreviated work schedule.
