Irvine Red Case u/c engines

Would like to hear any opinions on these engines that anyone would like to offer. I have most of them NIB. They look to be well made but perhaps a little bit heavy.

Phil, Your lucky, you only have one of the 36's. I have 2 and yes they are too heavy and run too fast and gaskets and venturi changes don't fix it either. That could explain why Irvine no longer offers this motor.
Interestingly enough I had Leonard make a venturi for one of my Irvine diesels and this motor is an absolute jewel although it also is heavy. But it swings 12 and 13 inch props with real gusto. Dennis

I have two .36s. The factory one is OK. Use a low pitch and run it in two stroke and will pull and perform OK. They are heavy. One is reworked by Big Jim and it works fantastic. But he didn't shave any weight off of it!

We had Byron Barker rework an Irvine 46...SUPER stunt motor! All seem to need a little timing rework, along with proper venturi. Smooth 4/2/4, lots of power, similar to ST 51. We'd be happy to take any of those "lousy" Irvine 36 engines off your hands...or even an Irvine 53, if you want to get rid of one! FWIW...

Focus guys, Irvine Red case engines please. The 36 is not in a Red case!

I stand corrected. The only Irvine 36 I have or have ever seen only has a red head.

I have 2 or 3 of the 25's. Re-worked they put out some pretty good power for RC combat, not to bad stock, but they are a chunk for CL, unless you need some nose weight. Definate RC sport engine of good quality.

Should hear it scream with 40% and a 8x6 prop, yuossa!
