Max flaps and rudder

I see on many plans that it shows max 45 degrees up and own for flaps and rudder.
I am just about to finish a 46 1/2" model.
I have only 30 degrees flaps and rudder (equal on both).
Tomm Morris bellcrank and horns, so they should be ok.
Just wonder if this is enough.

I am assuming you meant flaps and elevator. The older ships usually shnowed more movement, but it wasn't necessarily ever used. Anything over 30 degrees will give far more drag than increase in lift. Assuming your stabilizer is of ample size and the cg is set correctly (not necessarily as shown on the plan) 30 degrees both ways should be far more than adequate. That is the way we normally set ours up (and don't use it all). A lot will also depend on the weight as well, but I still would not expect you to need more than 30 degrees of flap.

The ship is 46 1/2 " , ca 32 Oz with an OS .25 LA.
Elevator is fairly large. Long tail moment.
It's the plane discussed in topic 8073 'My latest project'.

With that wingspan and light weight, 20 degrees of flap may be more than enough and 30 degrees elevator. Beyond that, like Leonard said, you just got spoilers, "lotssa" drag and over control. Ask me how I know this?
