I just returned from the 2001 Madras Airshow (full scale). I opened the show with the Bi-Slob! I knew I was supposed to fly at 7:30 but I had no idea I was going to open the show! Center of the taxiway, right on the X. What a kick! There were about a thousand people there, by far the biggest audience the Ol' Slob ever had. Everyone seemed to enjoy the flight, I'm glad I didn't crash it 
I had the Shark & the Cardinal along for display. (They were in the van anyway for the trip to the WOLF contest in Salem tomorrow morning.) I had a number of people come over to check out the Slob & the rest of the airplanes & asking questions. Half a dozen were kids. Maybe we'll gain a local flyer or two!
This was opening night for the show, it runs through tomorrow evening. One of the other local club members is going to do some RC flying tomorrow & man a booth. He also flys CL so he can answer questions about both.
Good airshow! There were three aerobatic airplanes flying tonight & a B-25 Mitchell did a simulated "bomb-run". Very cool!
They had two jet powered funny cars that ran just at dusk.
A guy names Eric (somebody) had a Yak 54 painted red, white & blue, with gobs of pyrotechnics on the wing tips. He flew just after dark, that was worth waiting for! He had all sorts of stuff shooting off the wings.
I hope the rest of the weekend goes this well!
