First and foremost, thanks to all those flyers who participitated. It's simple. If you don't have flyers, you don't have a contest. We had 100 registered flyers over the two days.
Thanks to all those folks who volunteered their time to come and help with the KOI. We are a club of seven members. Without the family members, friends, co-workers and members from other clubs, there would be no way we could organize and host this event.
Thanks to those flyers who also help us out with judging. Bob Zambelli, Richard Oliver and Kent Tysor (hope I didn't forget someone).
We had some visitors that I would like to recognize. Joyce Hager, AMA Executive Director attended. PAMPA President John Brodak and his wife, Buzz, were also there. AMA District Five VP, Jim McNeil and his wife attended on Saturday and presented our group with Club of the Month honors (and we are definitely honored). PAMPA District Five VP, Bob Dixon attended to gather information for his Stunt News column.
This was the 50th Anniversary KOI and we had four gentlemen attend who flew in the very first KOI. One of them had his son, who was flying in this KOI, with him. I apoligize for not having the names. I have not been able to get in touch with the person who wrote them down for me.
Thanks to all those people who donated gifts for the give-aways. They are John Brodak, Tower Hobbies, C. F. Slattery Co and Walter Umland.
Thanks to Steve Thibault, who is Donnie Thibault's son, for donating all of the t-shirts that were given to the contestants and visiting dignataries.
We had a special 50th Anniversary KOI banner prepared and displayed above the score board. This banner was presented to Joyce Hager and was taken back to the AMA Museum by her. Thanks to Joyce for accepting the banner.
Last, but not least, thanks to Allen Goff for asking the Good Lord to give us a break with Sunday's weather and thanks to the Good Lord for coming through. Early Sunday, it was drizzling rain and threatening to do more.
Folks, if you weren't there, you missed a great weekend.
