Big Lizard,
Well it sure beats squirting it in your eye! Almost had to have a cornea transplant.
Don't ask.

Hi Wynn,
Well one of the initiations for a rookie on the Varsity football team back when I came up was to squirt "Atomic Balm" (the hottest stuff I even came in contact with) on the crotch area while the rookie was in the shower. Intense pain! However, it doesn't come close to the eye incident.

P.S. Did you get my email on the .061 P-51 plans??

You and 'Zilla should write the next Health and Safety column in SN. titled "Creative Ways to Debilitate Yourself with CA"

I have not done either, but last week, I was smelling some shaving lotion in a plastic bottle, gave it a little squeeze and shot it straight up my right nostril. Whew!

The worst I heard was from my old man...he said when he was young he was in a hurry to go out for a date and grabbed the wrong tube out of the cupboard....brushed his teeth with deep heat ( heat rub ).....didn't end up going on the date.....

Also not a good idea to put heat rub on the small of your back before sports....you sweat, sweat drips down.......you can imagine the rest.....makes you run faster tho...

One very bad morning after a rough night in port on a wild liberty, I was brushing my teeth. I muttered "this stuff sure tastes oily". My first class was next to me and started laughing so hard he almost fell down. Seems my colgate and Brylcreme tubes looked the same and I applied Brylcreme to my tooth brush. Pttoooeeyy. Yuechk. Gag. Puke. Yeah, laugh. I am. I had a flat top and had the brylcreme in the shaving kit out of habit I guess. It was deep sixed ten minutes later.

Brad,

Hmm, not fun. Almost as bad is using your teeth to scrape off the CA on the end of the little teflon tube. Even if you manage to clear it (which is seldom, but enough to keep you trying), you end up with CA on your teeth, gums and sometimes tongue. Yuck!

Still happens to me (post No. 10). You think I'd learn. Another lesson: Never install a medicine cabinet directly above a toilet. Nothing good can come of it.

Opps, too late, aready did that one. Holding a plane part in one hand and the plane in the other. Took two hours getting my shirt off my chest. The hair did grow back though. God did it hurt. Bikini wax has to be easier.

Had a seam break on a CA bottle and dumped all over my Glass top of my workbench. Before I could do anything MY son grabbed a whole bunch of paper towels and started wiping it up. Big smoke plume and "HEY THIS IS GETTING HOT"!!! You know the rest of the story.

I am the only one stupid enough to routinely build on an inclined drafting table. For some reason the CA doesn't sit up too well and keeps falling off. Mobility is severely limited with one foot glued to the floor,

I very seldom use CA. My balsa joints are so sloppy, I need Titebond to make decent glue joints.

However, modern science has figured out how to make a super glue, but not how to package the stuff so the top doesn't get glued to the bottle, making it impossible to open.

Whenever I have a bottle of CA that won't open, I take it to my wife, and she manages to get it back in operation for me.

You don't want to take the entire top off the CA to soak in acetone, and then knock the now-topless bottle over....And knock it over next to a piece of plywood laying on the workbench....

After every use of the CA bottle I dab a little WD-40 on the nozzle and the cap never sticks.

Friend of mine (an R/Cer) stored his CYA in the freezer to extend shelf life. He needed a bottle and pulled it out and opened it. Then he read the label. It said: "Best used at room temperature" He was in a hurry and wanted to use it so he put it in his pants pocket to warm it up. Guess what CYA does as it warms, it expands. Not only did he glue his pants to his leg, he got burned doing it. It was getting real hot so he poured water on the pants. That acted like kicker and just made everything quicker. He had to cut the pants off with a pair of scissors, take them off and apply acetone to the parts that was glued to his leg. He survied.
I find that straight Nitro is the best debonder BTW
