Pond Scum Rises to the TOP

In the Northwest all control line nuts are kept informed about our hobby with the Flying Lines newsletter. At this time of the year the annual Top Competitor is announced. This listing is taken from the previous years accumilation of points given in several events, based on placing.For example, if a flyer is entered in an event and nine others also are entered, the winner gets 10 points the last place contestant gets 1 pont.
The 8 people that tied for 65th place includes myself!!!

What do you expect? Rutherford feeds all the judges cabbage soup (mostly beef), wears cute stunt outfits, and carries a hobby shop's worth of spare parts!

(Meanwhile, I'm still missing the scalding rebuke, resounding jobation, and sermon that Brother Rutherford owes me. Clearly I don't rate.)

MMMMM, It was nice that you 8 people at "The Bottom" of the ladder held the ladder very steady so that "the Scum" didn't fall off !!!
Another thought, Is it the "Scum" now instead of --"The Dirt"

Naah.. "Scummy Dan" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Conduct of the sort you have recently demonstrated is so unbecoming.

It appears as if I have proven that literally anyone can gain the position as competitor of the year in the NW. Drive a full-size van, have enough equipment to enter virtually any event likely to be on your dance card, pick a year in which Todd Ryan is thoroughly distracted.

Do please note that I was also the last line of defense, in that Keith Varley--a furriner, for God's sake--was second in 2003.

And this "Pond Scum" stuff simply must be ignored. It's been fun, but continues to be an irritant to others. Oh, right! That's why we do it. In that case, let's keep it up.

Scum does, after all, float.
