Leonard, I hope you won't mind me asking this here.
Is anybody else having trouble posting onto Isky's board ?
I get an error message saying:-
Out of memory error.
Is this just me ? Or has the board finally folded ?

On the old server PC, with the old, slow hard drives, any time the index got close to as big as now, the software would crash, requiring a reboot, and continue doing that every couple of days until the index file was archived off. With a "small" index, everything would be OK for about 3-4 months at a time until it was FULL once again.

Two days ago, I first saw the Out of Memory thing and assumed it represented the same sort of problem, just that the software is not going to crash any more. Remember, Isky is almost ready to leave for Indonesia, and has been busy the last year or so at locations very distant from where Bigwig, in his/her/its various incarnations, has been running attached to the U of I network.

Yup, I noticed that the last post was sometime yesterday. Tried to post and couldn't (same error message). I think we can assume it's full.

Right now, there is some indication that someone did start on an "Archived" status for the currently oversize Forum Index, but it either didn't go as expected, or whoever was involved was interrupted. If what I believe I saw there was happening, it may mean that there is potentially "One last 'hurrah' possible" for Isky's before it's gone.

I just received an email from Iskandar in which he stated that the Board was scheduled to be up for two more weeks and that all it needed now was a reboot.
