Watford swapmeet!

Went well.

Busier than last year.

I bought an Elfin 2.49 (£55) and as I couldn't find a DC Rapier plumped for an AMCO 3.5 BB (also £55) both in good 'usable' nick.

I picked up 16 Aeromodeller/Model Aircraft mags I wanted for 50 pence each.

I bought a newly available .25-.35 sized stunt profile called 'REACTION' designed and kitted by Gary Church (better known as a carrier flyer) it looks rather like one of the R/C fun flyers with minimal wing rib construction. This cost a reasonable £39.

One thing sort of sowered the day a bit - there were some beautifully built team racers that used to belong to a club member who died - they were being sold off for £5 each (I got one) - unfortunately all the rest (1/2 dozen or so) were all bought by another stand holder who then sold them on for £30-50 - not the spirit at all I'm afraid.

Tony: I guess I am a bad guy, because I have bought and resold stuff at swaps many times. Maybe even estate stuff. I actually made money. The shame...

There is one on *bay that's up to $375.00
They must be really good .15 size engines.

The swapmeet price for Oliver's is about £125-150 for a MK3 and £145-175 for a MK4 - depending on condition - NIB's may go for more.

I have a MK4 Oliver (a bargain at £105) but only CS and Russian MK3's.

Truly, is there such a thing as a Keynsian model club?

If so, are their flying sites provided for with government grants? How about the club house? Kits, materials? Fuel?

While I can see an emotional problem with the reselling of a mate's (just trying to fit in here) TR models I must wonder why they were being sold so far below market value to begin with.

A fantasy of mine--yet to be realized, which is why it is a fantasy--is to take only money to a swap meet, buy and resell, leave with more money. And no toy airplane junk.

I didn't know the owner of the models but yes that is the main problem - why were they originally sold so cheaply?

Why not relieve yourself of the burden, and buy a replica (Russian Mk.3 or Cub) from Mr. Rustler? They are NOT CS crap, not beat up & worn out originals, and you don't have to subject yourself to eB*y. Steve
