Well the weather man was right this time. We got quite a bit of sleet, enough to shut down things and cancel school.

So....... gonna get most of the Vulcan work done, and get started on a replacement USA-1.

I must be behind the curve. What happened to your USA-1? I'm just getting ready to start mine. Should be done with the PA plane in another week or so.

Hi Randy,

She didn't like me anymore (we all know our ships are of the female gender, so this fickle behavior was not a shock) so she went to live with a gentleman in St. Thomas. Much nicer climate there.

The gentleman must be of Italian decent because he "made me an offer I couldn't refuse"!

Gonna start a replacement as soon as the wood order arrives this week.
It was too good a ship to not have another.

But Roger,
The "Little" USA-1 is getting a carbon copy paint job to remember it's older brother by!
And, when the new full size one is finished, it will probably get a very similar paint scheme.

Well I hate to say it, but Bill is now your local corner street dealer. I know this as fact because at the KOI he was dealing on the spot. I have it on good authority he he was dealing right out of his van! You can deny it it Bill, but I am hip to your connection with the man in the islands.

So now you are snowed in and getting your next shipment ready. I'm sorry Bill but I can't let your cartel grow any larger. I am reporting you to the S.E.A (Stunt Enforcement Agency)and stopping the trafficing of fine stunt models out of the Mainland!

You can buy me off though Bill... How about the next USA-1 for me?

Incase anyone didn't get it...DUH, Bill sold it OMG!!!!

I HAVE to build another USA-1! That ship just flew too good. Will have it done sometime this year.
Of course, the Vulcan is already started and it will hit the contest trail this spring.

Have an Ares project waiting on the wood order to come in. Along with Aaron building a '62 Ares, and my "Super secret", "Super Zoot" new PAMPA plane whose wing structure has been started, plus a Mustang I am painting, my building schedule, and building table is pretty full! Aaron and I share the same workshop down in the Fortress of Solitude.

I can see from previous post though that it's to late. You're hooked and can't get enough.

Well, actually, Kirk......
An OLD gentleman, retired exec., came over one night on the advice of Alan at Hayes Hobby over in Fayetteville. He wanted to get back into flying C/L after many, many years. He had bought a Ringmaster and a Fox 35.
Well a sandwich bag full of zinc sterate (that's how Randy sold it back then) was sitting beside the gram scale............

Haven't heard from him since!!!! LOL!!!!!

Now, to return to my "lab" in the Fortress of Solitude.

Got the bottom block done, cut the outline for the top block. Now I have to cut out the stab and finish the elev. pushrod for the Vulcan.
Will do the cowl today, too, as long as we don't lose power! hahaha!!
Fuse, wing (minus tips), bottom block, all pushrods, L/G etc.,
11.5 oz. Feel pretty good so far, as I still have to shape the leading and trailing edges of the wing. Should hit a full ship at under 20 oz. That gives me a good base for a 36 oz. plane, right?
Will have Aero Tiger 36.

For a real nice USA-1, see the March 2004 Model Aviation, pages 43 -46. I wonder how that one flies.

Probably about the same way mine did!!!!! hahahaha
I did have many conversations with The Man while building/trimming mine, and it was right in the ballpark weight wise with his, plus the ST 51 was on par,power wise at least, with his hopped up ST 46's. Of course, the handle actuator's abilities are considerably different!
AWW.... quit reminding me of my lost fickle female friend.
