TWO.......HOWEVER, only ONE is required as the rule states. But do two. You save yourself when you fly Classic or PA.

That site will surely get you started, however you need to see the complete rules. For example, the shapes shown in the horizontal 8's are misleading. The loops are supposed to be round and the airplane is supposed to be vertical at the intersections. The rules are available from PAMPA products. The PAMPA rules are in Nov/Dec 2000 Stunt News, and the 1951-52 pattern is in Sept/Oct 2001 SN. Hopefully the complete OTS rules will soon appear on the PAMPA website.

From the current PAMPA OTS rules:

Paragraph 9: ".....A minimum of two laps is suggested between each maneuver to allow judges time to register scores. (Not completing two laps will not result in a loss of pattern points.)"

Bill Zimmer taught me how to fly OTS and his comments to rules are that there are only two things to cause you to lose pattern points in OTS is:
a. go over eight mintues
b. fly maneuvers out of order

His comment was that you could take off, fly the climb, crash in the dive and still receive pattern points.

You might also want to look at the landing as the landing is not judged until the plane touches down. Descent is not part of the landing in OTS.
