I had the opportunity of visiting the Air & Space Museum in Washington DC over the Christmas holiday. I was presently surprised to see some control line models on display. They had a very detailed B-25 model which had a three line control. Have any of you guys seen this one or better yet post a picture of it?

I was there during Christmas. What day were you there? We probably walked past each other and didn't know it. My wife is from Washington DC area. We go there all the time. Its the only place in the United States a person can go to take a FREE month vacation paid for by you and me the tax payer. I can't tell you have many times I have been to the Smithsonian and I still have not seen it all. If you go there be sure to stay in a motel at the far end of the subway about 30 miles from DC motels are cheaper $60.00 a night compaired to $200.00 a night closer to DC. If you drive another 30 miles from the subways end you can get a motel for $40.00 a night along the interstate. Subway ride, change lines twice is only about $4.00 total 1 way per person and the sub way brings you up in the center of the mall area right in front of the Washington Monument. You can drive to the Smithsonian but there are no parking places so forget driving there. You have 2 choices city bus or subway ride.
That B-25 is the handiwork of past C/L Scale Nats Champion and FAI Team Member Bill Harney of Massachusets. Bill is still alive and well and still building gorgeous scale models.
I don't have a picture of the B-25, but it did appear in model magazines several times, in the late 1960s

I used to lay-over in DC in a former life and would walk over to the Smithsonian. Walking among planes such as the Spirit, Flyer, ME262, Winnie Mae, etc- and where did I wind up? Yep- right there looking at that B-25 in the showcase! Then head out to Dulles and see Mike Pratt's 4-stroke Magnum in a showcase there! C/L is out there- it's sometimes hard to spot. Best,
Glad to here Bill Harney of Wakefield, Mass. is still with us. As I recall, he flew it at local contests as well as the Nats, originally K&B GH 23, then later Fox 35 because if the extra weight from alum skin. Had a working nose cannon (blanks), rotating gun turret, and retracts. Went to the Smithsonian in the 70's. Bill then built a Zero.
Has anyone heard from Jack Denison of Stoneham, Mass, TWA Connie 4 Fox 15s; P-38, 2 K&B GH35's, and a Sikorsky S-29A bipe with the Curly Clothing Co. add on it. Quite a bunch of scale guys back then. I built a P-63A Kingcobra "Pinball" under their tuteledge. Crashed in 1991, still not rebuilt. But someday!
