Who has a broadband or another fast cone

I'd like to make my record available as a gif to the Stuka Stunt folks.

But It'll cost me a fortune to mail all those cd's!
I can convert it to mp3, and just send it, using ICQ or MSN.

Then, whoever wants one could send a blank cd to the "generous soul" and get his copy, at a cheoa 2 or 3 bucks.

Since I'm getting out of music to a better job I want nothing,just the pleasue to give'em away.

I have a wide band connection and would be glad to do it for you. I have three computers with high speed recorders and could also do the cover for the CD if you send me the information and artwork. You could send the .mp3 file files to my email one at a time or put them on a website, give me the URL and I could download them. If you like you could just snail mail me the CD and I could provide copies to the others here that want one.

Watch out, if the RIAA hears about this they'll drag you into court. After all, they are losing potential revenue. Even unrealized revenue counts. Of course, they'll have to wait till they finish suing 12 year olds.

I hope you are kidding in your post. I think the RIAA are idiots but I nonetheless respect copy write. Ion has generously consented to give his material away to readers of SSW, so no laws will be broken.

That's right.

All songs are mine, and I own 50% of the phonogram.

And I'll sure be glad if the RIAA or any other of these musician milkers get upset.

The songs aren't even published, so I'm giving away my own stuff.

My only "demand" is that the copies are numbered and that you folks don't make too many copies, since I might still strike a bargain with some US distributor, and if the recor is all around it's bad for business.

That is, if I just don't donate my merchandise to some good cause.

My new BOSS runs the universe. Salary ain't that great, but the benefits and retirement are "out of this world"...

Yea, I was kidding. While I also respect copyrights, the RIAA doesn't care much about that. They are concerned that the recording companies and the RIAA will lose money. The artist is already losing money. I won't go into a long tirade here, but suffice it to say that as far as P2P and the RIAA are concerned: It isn't much about copyrights, it's about money. Their money.

Can't I just use my computer as an ftp server?

If so, how does it work?

We can also use MSN or IQC.

If you are both online at the same time and both have FTP capability and both know your current IP addresses, yea, you can direct transfer. It's just easier to do it by either P2P or through a web site or server
