I have a Magnum .40 GP, it has been modified.

On the bottom of the crankcase it's scribbled with a sharp object:

The pushrod has marks of being filed.

The schneurle ports have aparently been raise AND lowered.

One of the ports is slightly higher than the other.

The port that was less raised is lower than the one that was a tiny tiny bit more raised.

The crankshaft has scribbled on it: BB

The shaft timing looks like it has been changed also.

Tne crankcase had sime material removed where the pushrod runs.

The sleeve has a small groove from the left side (seen from the front) that end about3/16" befire the top ;

It runs like a dream, its a sweetie!

Ion, while you wait for Randy's answer, I have two questions for you. You said:

There are three ports (besides the exhaust): the intake ports on each side of the exhaust and the boost port opposite the exhaust.

When you say "one port is slightly higher than the other" are you referring to one of the intake ports (to the side of the exhaust?) That would be strange as these are usually (and should be) treated equal. The boost port (opposite the exhaust) is already lower than the others, lower at the bottom and at the top. Some will raise the top to the same height as the intake ports and some will just ignore it, and some will fill it. But I don't know why anyone would raise it higher than the others.

why did you take it apart? If it runs like a dream, don't mess with it?

Thats rigt, §len. One of the schneurle ports is slightly higher than the other.

Ya see, Len, it sees to like only castor, although it's an ABC.

I ran it with some syth fuel and it lost compression.

I got worried and opened it up.

back to all castor and it became ok again...

No that does not sound like one of my engines, I looked in my books I did about 300 of the magnum 40 GPs and I never did a number 595.
It may have been one of my engines that someone else ground on...maybe #59 that had another number and letter put on it.

I also did not do the things you say this engine has. My reworks on the ones were to do head mods, retime the intake timing, remove material from the pin side of the crank to balance it , make a true venturi and install a NVA. This was all they needed, we ran them with 12 x 6 props and they worked very well and put out good power, some guys also used them with Bolly 11 x4.25 or 12 x 4 props and liked that run too.
