Yeah, is was pretty nasty around here today, too. I bet it won't even make 60 degrees, and I saw some clouds earlier.

Sunny but cool here too, Brett. It stopped right at 65F.

I'm glad I'm not the only one not doing any flying. I really expected to find posts from people like:

"The flying session was pretty good but I had problems hitting my corners. How come no one else is out flying?"

Oh, yes, Iowa. I was born and raised in Iowa. You get 6 feet of snow and they still have school. Here you get a little frost on the ground and they close school for three days straight.

Wow, so was I. Cedar Rapids. We left when I was young, but I do remember the snow. I also remember outdoor Easter-egg hunts though. Here (Southern Ontario) we normally don't get a whole lot of snow. January this year was unremittingly cold, which is also unusual...

All we have is rain. And rain. And rain. And rain. And, well, you get the idea. Had a break today for a couple of hours. Did you know that the sky is blue? I had forgotten.

Weather forcast is for highs in mid 40s, lows in the mid 40s and pretty much consistent rain, showers, heavy rain, mist, heavy fog, rain and drenching for the next week. Gee, sounds pretty much like last week. Maybe I can mount water skis on the plane.

The new plane is just about ready to fly. Hope we get a break soon.

We had a cold front through Austin last night. Ronnie Brandon went to the church (down by the creek) at daybreak to fly, as is his custom. He said there was ice on the grass. I don't think it froze at my place up on higher ground, Gene Hempel and I got there about 1:30 as Ronnie was finishing up. I had on a T-shirt and was comfortable all afternoon. Gene and I flew until about 5 PM. Tomorrow looks good also. Maybe some rain next week.

That piece of equipment he's using, is it a new fangeled RC type air craft?

Hey, If you look closely there is a animal hitching a ride on his back, maybe he's a animal lover and he is giving his cat a ride.

Hey he's even got a tobogan on his head, I am confused, is a tobogan something you ride on or wear on your head?

He's going to burn up in that heat, with all those clothes on and his cat ridding on his back.

Boy, I am glad I live in L.A. (Lower Alabama)

In this part of the country (St. Paul, MN), we actually have buildings made from big blocks of ice.

It was -24ºF here last week.

Ah, yes, the St. Paul ice carnival. I spent two years in St. Paul attending school. Get up in the morning and it is 40 below. And then it sometimes cools off during the day.

Did you ever meet King Boreas and his Queen of the Snows? People here not only endure winter - they celebrate it!

My wife is the native midwesterner. Born and raised on a small Wisconsin dairy farm. I was more acclimated to the the damp, moss and slugs of the Pac NW.

Both my C/L and R/C clubs have Jan 1st freeze flys. I stay at home watching college football.

I had to run my snow blower a few times this winter.

Photo is my flying field under about 10" of snow. Its down the way between the 2 small trees & the weed line. Its 200'x 180'.

Tough winter. Then I get an email from John Paris, he & Jay Willaims were out flying in 12" deep snow last week end. These guys are tough as nails.

You guys need to migrate to Tucson, AZ. Here we can fly every day. At least that is what I am trying to do while away from Randy in Washington. There are however, some modelers here that think it is too cold or the occasional sprinkle might melt them but being from Washington; I find Tucson to be the Mecca for flying models and real planes for that matter. Come on down, the weather is great.

It was a perfect day today 60 degrees, calm, the smell of nitro and castor. Tryed out the new PA-61 set up. OH so good. Can't wait to get out in the morning. ALL DAY.

Gee I feel so lucky as it was -52 in outlying areas here a week ago and a balmy -44 in the city.You guys get no good building weather do ya?

I remember John Wesley White talking about them there parts of the country. He said that you do get summer. Can't remember if it was a Tuesday in July or a Thursday in August. Come to think of it, I don't think he could remember, either.

That's one thing around here. Classically you get about 10 months of wet, a week of spring and week of what we call fall and 6 whole weeks of actual summer.

Spring - 55 degrees and constant if fairly light rain
Summer - 75 degrees and the bluest skies you've ever seen. Gorgeous.
Fall - 55 degrees, windy with constant and moderately heavy rain.
Winter - 40 degrees and windy with constant rain. Name your type.

No wonder it's so green around here.

Knowing John, he probably has an electrically heated booth at circle center from which they fly

100+ deg.in the shade in Sydney. Tongue hanging out waiting for Autumn - pls send snow.

the last time i lived with weather like that we got 130 inches of snow north dakota,is still home miss it
now i got a lawn mower that calls me every weekend ,,
