cloth hinges

Has anybody tried to adhear cloth hinges with poly crylic instead of dope and if you did how does it work??????
I am going to try it on some scrap balsa and will forward the test results...

I realize that this is slightly off topic from your post, but I like to use double glued Ambroid. Give the hinge and wood one coat of Ambroid, let dry, then coat hinge with Ambroid and stick to the wood. The reason I like it is that it gives a good "grab" pretty quickly. That would be my question about the polycrylic, whether the hinges stay in place while they are drying (probably does work).

Nitrate dope works well too.

I was mistaken on my previous comment that Ambroid tends to melt Rayon Taffeta material used for hinges. I was thinking of another product I happend to find in my wife's sewing box, but it wasn't Rayon Taffeta.

I'm using Rayon Taffeta on my latest stunter and I just glued the material with Ambroid with great results.
