Fox 36X, not a timing question

Can someone tell me what the variants of the Fox .36 X are? I've notice several sales on the bay where used .36X's went for rediculous prices yet just the other day a NNIB .36X went for $30. I have a couple that are the same, same head, case, but I know there's one called the baldy with no fins on the head, and there is another with a more plump looking case casting. Then there is the Gold colored case ones that looked so nice until you touched them.

So, just how many are there and whet is their relative desirability?

I've got two that were R/C versions. Since you can get as good or better performance out of some fairly inexpensive modern engines I would think a NIB 36X would bring a higher bid than a used one simply for the collector value.

There are web sites and published literature about Fox 36X's that explain all the variations. But briefly, there was a 35X prior to the 36X. Had a striaght plug in the center and a .700 stroke. The 36X had either a single needle bearing, dual needle bearing, and dual ball bearing. All are timed for combat, but a 35 stunt sleeve will drop in and might make a more docile engine.
I'm running a stock 36X on a Doc Passen Zero. It runs a 4-2-4 at just under 11000. 10-4 2 blade. Could be used like for stunt similar to the Aero Tiger 36.

I am amazed at the price differential I see on the bay, I supposed there were some more desirable than others but it seems I should have jumped into the fray in the NNIB .36X, I dropped out when I figured it'd probably go over $55. They have gone for rediculous prices and I'm regretting having let my original pair go. For all their faults, they were screamers for a while.

I'm not real familiar with the 36X but I went through my "stuff" and came up with 4 different ones.
The two in the rear seem identical except for the web in the exhaust port.
The one without the fins on the head appears to be a Schnurle version.
The one with the paper tag on the crank is a 36X BB. It was reworked by Scarinzi as seen by the intake and exhaust ports. I have never run it or any of the 36Xs so I cannot comment on their performance.
All I know is that they seem to multiply - time for Ebay!
