Consolidated fancy Pants

Anybody out there willing to loan me for copying - (or sell) the plans for this wonderful plane. I'd like to build a standard size version plus an enlarged version for .60 engine. Thanks a bunch, Brian

Fancy Pants is kitted by Brodak, and they sell the plans for all their kits, typically for about $10. If I had some, which I don't, it would cost me almost that much to have them copied. Unless somebody offers you a used set for postage or less, that's a fair deal. See their website and order online!

Here is my fleet of Fancy Pants The red and white one is a Brodak kit with a K&B 26. The Black and gray one is a Mike Garmon designed 600 sq. in. fancy Pants and has a fox 40 in it. The red one is blown up to 650 sq. in. with a K&B 45. Mike had a 800 sq. in. Fancy Pants with a K&B 65. All of them flew great and worth building.

Does the original design have that open "Warrior" nose? I seem to remember it being closed with a spinner in some photo.
The design reminds me of an airplane called "Ruby" that Dan McEntee did a long time ago for VSC.

Hi Willis. Man, those are sweet planes, nice work. I'm going to file those pics , print them and hang on my wall for inspiration. Nice to hear the Sportster engines being used. They're great runners and take a big prop for those nice steady uniflo runs. I have a new old Fox Eagle 60 that I'd like to use in something like Mike's 800 square in. version.

Hey Steve. Thanks for that info. That's a sweet looking Pants there. Yep, I paid my way through school by working in the trade and now have my own hobby machine shop which I intend to open for real when I retire someday. What's up front on that plane?

Mike's "Fancy Pants" has a Fox .35S with a Magnum .28 muffler, probably a 10-5 APC. It didn't like landing on grass, mostly flipped over. You might want to remedy that by moving the LG forward, or having both grass and pavement plug-ins. Steve

I copied the diamond motif trim shown on the Consolidated box art for mine. Almost exactly.
