Anyone holding their breath? I've checked this link everyday and it still reads, as of two minutes ago, that the delivery date is the same as it's been for the last four months. Any bets?

Wow is everybody bring out new CL airplanes? I got to have one of these 1/2A flyers. It looks way cool. I put my name on the list.

I was with Mike last year in Pueblo when he was testing out the prototype. This is a cool little plane. Look at the design - its a mini Magnum!

Sure hope it isn't the plane I heard the rumours about. The one where they just backed a dumpster up to the dock and broke all the dies for and threw everything away?

Well, I just ordered mine, and they claim it will ship next week between Tues and Thursday out of Reno. We'll see! The specs as given by Mikey indicate it should be a noticeable improvement over the original light weight Me-109, and a drastic improvement over the solid wing later version. Prepare yourselves for thread after thread of complaints, revisions, refits, modifications, crash reports, and such. Should be almost as much fun as the Noblarf and FSarf.

In case you haven't noticed, THIS is the golden age of CL flying!

There are more kits of better designs done with superb quality unimagined in "the old days". Engines are better, and if you wish the old stuff is still available. We KNOW a whole bunch more. Including how to make the old stuff work better than it ever did then.

The only downer, is there isn't that much room to improve. No way to show up with that new "secret weapon" and destroy all in one's path.
The chances of an "unknown" showing up and taking the Nats is just about zero. (Hmmm, when was the last time that happened, anyway?)

Larry: Q is up, and engines are better, true. And a short trip to ebay will take you down Memory Lane, old kit wise. And we are smarter. How do we know? Just ask us...

Can't agree that there are more kits, though, even of the "better" designs. Go back and check out the proliferation of kit offerings in the 50s and early 60s.

And, from a PA competition standpoint, maybe the curve is flattening. But there is plenty of room for improvement, at least for the sport flyer, and in the spirit of the general gist of this thread.

I'm thinking Electric CL, and all of its potential that should be revealed in the coming few years.

I am not counting the multitude of Scientific and similar solid log models, I admit. And scale, speed, etc. I guess if you throw those in, there were a LOT more CL kits in the '50s and early '60s. Plus, sad to say, nobody is currently kitting the 1/2A Snapper, a true tragedy!!!

I am somewhat chagrined but happy to note that the plane is in stock. I really expected it to be set back for some more undetermined amount of time.
