I was rustling around, doing some closet cleaning today and found a box of airplane stuff given to me by the widow of a good friend. Howard was a terrific modeler and A&P mechanic. In the box, I found some neat stuff:

Plans for: Berkeley Curtis Hawk P6E
Berkeley Aircoupe
OS2U-1 Kingfisher carrier by Jim Moynihan (MAN)
Pow Wow (MAN)
Hobby Helpers #1053 X-Pendable and a Skyraider
that looks like a Cal Smith design(1951)
Hobby Helpers #253R B-26 Invader and Stuka Stunt
with Fox 29 (Is this the Still Stuka?)

Plus the Oct 1955 MAN with the Feno article and American
Modeler Jan/Feb 1964 with the Harold Price Crusader retact gear
stunter article.

Wanted to share my delight on finding these!

The Stuka Stunt with Fox .29 sounds like the 1952 version, and is both OTS and Classic legal. Check Leonard's plans list to get more information. Steve

The Hobby Helper's plan is the one from Air Trails for Don Still's early Stuka, it is as Steve said legal for OTS.
The plans from the old Berkeley kits were the best part. You took them and some the other parts (metal comlings, decals) and threw the rest away and built using decent wood.

Wish I could get the edit function to work. That is of course "cowlings".
Also the Skyraider is by Cal Smith. By the way, it was the FIRST ever Nats Navy Carrier winner, at the 1950 Nats, if I remember correctly.

The Edit Function is slick, and has some security built in. If you login with your password, and post / respond to something, it remembers who you are. Then if you want to edit the post / response, you need to login again as the same guy.

This makes sense, as I can't edit your posts, and you can't edit mine. I think I got this right, but if not, Leonard will correct me.

Anyway, when logged in, I have never had a problem. When not logged in (oversight on my part), I could not edit.

You have got it right, Larry. That is one of the advantages to being a logged in user. You, also, get the "new" flags, and so forth as well.

Now, there is no need to ever log out again unless you are using someone else's computer or don't want someone else with access to your computer to use your identity. If you don't log off, then every time you return to the web site you are already logged in and the edit function (for your postings) will always work.

Now if I log off and then log back in as Forum Host I can edit all of you guys (or delete you entitely) and perform the other administrative functions as may be necessary. But, normally, you should only have one identity and have no need to log off.

Hey Guys, I KNOW that, ok???
I can't seem to get it to let me perform the edit function, and it used to with NO sweat, maybe I need to re-register or something (due to my ancient PC and all?)?

You shouldn't need to reregister. You can log in under your registered name and password from any computer. Log out and then log back in as JAK (using the proper password) and then see if it let's you edit the post.

I thought that was probably Cal's Skyraider-it just looks right. But Hobby Helpers made sure that there where no names on any of their plans. i don't see a copyright date on the Stuka, but it does look like the original version. Pretty simple airframe.

Looking in the old mags reminds me of a couple of true gems from those days-Doug Rolfe and William Wylam. Their cut-a-ways and three views are incomparable in quality and detail.

You logged in the first time as JAK and the second time as Jake, and that is why it wouldn't let you edit the post. If you use the same identity when you log in, I have it set to let you edit your post any time you want--but never anyone else's.

Actually there is no reason to ever log off. When you leave, just leave and you will automatically be logged in under the same identity when you return.

Burns on my still make it hard to type, but I HAVE tried to edit under "Jake" which is the logo I usually use, and it still won't let me do it (it USED to!).

Try to edit a "Jake" posting while logged in as "Jake" or a "JAK" posting while logged in as "JAK" and see if it will let you edit either post. It should if you log in under the same identity.

Otherwise, you have me confused.

I thought this thread would be about Leonard's Parishioner's playing Bingo Maybe Scott Riese will win at "PowerBall" (I hope) and make Leonard get out his eraser. But while we wait for that, how about sending Leonard those old plans so we can all buy a copy from him? The P6E would be neat, my Paw flew them for awhile, after they gave the P-26's over to another group while waiting for the Seversky P-35's. Bad swap. Steve

I'll box them all up and let you look them over and decide what you can use. I would really like to have copies of the X-, the Stuka, and maybe the Skyraider to build from, rather than risk the slightly fragile originals.
