Leo Engines??

My dad got a Leo .25 engine last year at the NATS. Its going in the New Fancy Pants thats just about done now. I never heard of Leo Engines before. It is stunt tuned and has a hemi head so it should work ok with the Fancy Pants. Are these good running engines and have about the power of a LA/FP 25?? I am going to start out with a 9x6 prop with the Leo .25. I have to get a muffler for it since it didn't come with one. I have to see if any of the OS mufflers with match up with it.

You can check out http://www.justengines.unseen.org/ for a bit of info on the Leo. I suspect it may run much like an OS 25FP in which case a 9-6 prop may be a little steep in pitch for it. The usual 25FP set up may be a good starting point - 9-4 APC prop (see the Pukey Profiles thread) and 11,000 RPM or thereabouts. Doesn't sound at all like a 'classic' stunt run but will haul butt all day long like that if it behaves like an FP, will do the full pattern on 2 ounces of fuel and still give a bunch of cool down laps.

These aren't too bad. The quality is good. They are not a knock off on anything I know of so you will have to experiment with props. I had gotten a 36 for evaluation, but decided there were others to "play" with, so didn't bother to pursue it too much.

Still, as I said, they aren't too bad.
