Why you should not rush

your preparations. Aaron, and I, went out Saturday afternoon to trim his Geo XL and to fly my Argus with the new L&J reworked Fox 35.
I had all intentions of putting in a longer needle (the one that came was a little too short to turn with the cowl in place) and, of course, I didn't. Realization came when the engine was running and I went to turn the needle........
Also, I popped the bottom off the cover of the GEO XL weight box when trying to trim it for the extra 1/4 oz.weight that was needed. No CA in the box.......
Just goes to show that you can't get in a hurry!
Some days you're the bug, some you're the windshield............

P.S. The Geo XL with Geo Bolt wing, PA 61 and 12 1/2 3 bld 4 pitch is great! Makes me jealous of Aaron.

We are always in a rush to fly. When the wind dies down we run home get our stuff and rush to the field by our house.

I always try and lighten the load by not taking a lot of "stuff" and you always need what you do not bring.
We needed some weight to trim out a tail heavy plane the other day.
We only took two planes to the field. One was crashed after the 3rd nose landing and broke the tail off. ( that cheap balsa wood again)
So we were down to the tail heavy plane that was in need of some weight to the front of the plane. Two cox .049 wrenches and a few rubber bands and we were back in the air. Not real "purdey" but it got my son a few more laps in.
