Scott --

The "other Scott" is probably taking note of this and already has a set of plans in his head. Do you know the difference between arrow shafts, kite spars, what we buy as CF rods in the CL world, and golf shafts? I certainly don't know, but I'll bet there is someone out there that knows, and will tell us if we are persistent.

It all comes down to HOW the rods are made. How much TOE or the admount of fiber. There are several grades of fiber and and kind of matterial that binds the fiber. ARROW shafts work for our purpose very well. Stright and light and very strong. Kite shafts work very well also but make sure you don't get them to light. GOLF shafts NO NOTHING. I have carbon fiber dust that I use in white glue.Makes it sand very well. REMEMBER.....Cabon Fiber is nastey stuff. Do not use indoors, and do not sand with out ventilation. Always try to use a cut off wheels to cut any carbon rods. A saw will cause micro fractures, The death of Carbon Fiber Rods. More to come out of this one. scott

You're right, Scott. Sanding carbon without a dust mask causes the formation of black boogers.
