It says in the Brodak catalog that these syringes are not for use with gasoline. Does diesel fuel hurt them? I know not to use the silicon fuel tube with diesel.

-- I would think so. The piston uses rubber, which is attacked by the kerosene. I suggest using polyethylene bottles as diesel fuel fillers.
Dr. Diesel (Eric Clutton) sells a polyethylene bottle with a brass shutoff valve that's perfect for diesel. It's not graduated like a syringe but very useful anyway. He also has very flexible diesel-proof & nearly-clear plastic tubing that's great for glow or diesel.
