covering pipe tunnel with veil etc.

Constructing a Buso Vegas. Now at the stage to cover the pipe tunnel with carbon veil, or silkspan or keep bare before adding the covers. What do you suggest? I would assume this plane would last about three contest seasons or longer. Does covering the tunnel improve longevity? Weight penalty acceptable?

Do it with thinned epoxy. VERY THIN. Pipe tunnels don't ware out.
MAKE SURE you build it light MINE came in at 64 oz with a LA-46. Six years ago

Like Scott said!
All ours get a coat of Z-Poxy thinned, then the dope finish.
No Problems after several years of use.
HAven't seen a Vegas for several years, good looking ship!
