Dale Kirn just came over with a Hyper Viper box in hand. The only one "Hobby People" received. We proceded to open it and look it over. It is indeed a beautiful model. Thanks Mikey! Knowing that this plane was going to end up in the hands of Dale, a particular part was missing. Can you guess what it was? Yes indeed, the bellcrank!!!!!!!
However he was not dissapointed as it was'nt going to be used any way.Suprise! Suprise! He of course he will be installing a Mono-Line control system. He is assuming that this was the only plane missing the bellcrank. And yes, the pushrod was missing also.

Glad that worked out.

I've been running mine in, it's way tight and just now loosening up after about 5 tanks. 14.8 on the prop right now. The silkscreening isn't holding up to the fuel, but if I replace it the Rustoleum will.

Bill,
Mine seems to be holding up to ~18% nitro (~5 tanks with a few spills). I can't recall if you were using 25% or not.

I don't know what others are doing about filling the tank, but I find a short piece of large fuel tubing fits over my syringe tubing and the tank fill quite nicely.

I just received my new Cox "Hyper Viper" from Tower Hobbies also. I ordered it almost immediately upon Dale Kirn telling me what a nice product it appeared to be. I have not put mine together yet, but one of the FIRST modifications I will be making is to install a Grish 5.5-3 Black Magnum "pusher" prop, this will allow the prop blast to throw most of the raw fuel and exhaust gases AWAY from the model, instead of all over it. Does anyone why in the World they installed the engine with the cylinder on the inboard side of fuselage!?
Also my engine will get a "penny ballon" tank which will feed the engine on mild pressure, also the stock glow plug will be replaced with a 1/2A Glo-Bee button plug setting atop the cylinder, or at least a Nelson conversion plug with the optional "flat coil" element which is just as fast as a Glo-Bee plug. Of course the venturi will be bored out to optimum size also.
This product looks to be the best RTF glow powered model offered by Cox in a LONG time. Maybe there is hope for the Estes take-over yet ..... probably just wishful thinking?

Make sure and reset the ball socket on the piston, these are set loose from the factory from what I've seen and heard. Makes for nice holes in the piston.
