A nice break from a long winter.............

Got my first flights of the year Saturday at the AMA sight here in Muncie. As close as I can figure the last time I flew was about a week after the Dayton Buzzin Buzzards contest last fall so when the weather man said Saturday was going to be in the mid to upper 50's with a 5-10 MPH wind I knew I had to get out and fly something. The first time up I didn't try much due to a rich run on the ST 60 but after a needle adjustment the engine ran perfect the next three flights and I managed to get in three fairly sloppy patterns before I had to pack up and head for home. My only regret was that none of my flying buddies made it out to the L-pad but I still managed to have a good time. Now I'm fired up again and can't wait for the Worlds and the NATS this summer. I sure hope some of the rest of you guys were able to enjoy the early spring like weather we had Saturday and managed to get in a pattern or two.

Its really nice hear in PA also. It's almost supposed to hit 60 degress. I went flying yesturday (Saturday) and going again today soon. I'm going to put the first flights on the New Brodak Viking today. It will be my old time plane for this year!

Even here in Canada, the weather is finally giving us a break. Yesterday was 50F and sunny, no wind. Would have been perfect for flying if the field wasn't still too snow-covered and/or swampy. Did some work in my shop on my current projects, then in the afternoon I just had to get out and enjoy that sunshine, so I got out on the back patio and did some rubbing and buffing on my Smoothie. What was it that Windy said... "A good finish is never completed, just abandoned...?" I abandoned it last fall in order to fly the thing, but I'm taking it up again in the hopes of improving it for the coming season. Here's a couple of pictures from yesterday. Today looks to be at least as nice...

Well, the snow and ice are melting..... supposed to get to 65 today and near 80 this Friday! LOL!! Don't know if we can fly today due to the water, no paved areas available.
Geez.... what crazy wearther.
