Black Tiger

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what issue of FM the Classic Series article of the Black Tiger was run in?
I know I have it, but I can't find it!
One of my flying buddies gave me a Berkeley/Fox/*Sig* kit many years ago, and it has been sitting 50% done since the article came out. Need to find it and do the nose mods for a bigger tank installation.
Seeing the post in the Classifieds gave me a shot in the arm.

Black Tiger - a P-40 Warhawk stunter designed by Robert Elliot - kitted by Berkley was a plan published in Air Trails February 1953 on page 32.

Hey Bill,

I got a spare nose (not in the greatest shape), and a rudder sanded for wrong direction flying, a complete empenage (spelling?) and a nice flap. The rest turned to popcorn...

Neat little plane, will build another for my son. I did goof up on mine and couldn't get a tank to fit that would do the classic pattern with a Fox 35. Could be done with a custom tank with all the plumbing turned down and exiting the bottom at the front. I tried this, but my tank didn't work (my goof up). Had to go with a shorter one with normal plumbing. I modified the nose for a (now) normal slide in from the front tank comparment.

Hi Mike,
The article, part of Bob Hunt's "Classic Series" in Flying Models,
Shows a modified nose to allow the installation of a bigger tank. All internal modifications so the outward appearance doesn't change.
I just have to dig out my July 1996 FM issue. Thanks to Roman for the reference!
I have all the parts finished, but I need to perform surgery on the nose for the bigger tank since I just built it straight out of the box.
