Finishing Compatability Question

Anybody used glazing compound (green or red stuff) with catalyzed polyurethane? Any problems?

I haven't found any compatability problems using polyurethane over any fillers or paint. However, because it's adhesion is more mechanical than chemical, it does not work as well on smooth surfaces such as dope.

It amazes me that people are still using that lacquer based putty. Actually, it amazes me that that they still make that crap. All it is is thick lacquer primer. It doesn't stick well & it shrinks FOREVER, (just like the antiquated lacquer primer). NO professional body shop worth a hoot has used either one of these products for 20 years! If you want to fill small imperfections or dings try some Evercoat Metalglaze, part #100-416. It's about $17/quart (including hardener). It dries fast, sticks great & has WAY more strength than Green Stuff or Red Stuff, it doesn't shrink EVER, & it sands beautifully. It also make EXCELLENT fillet material. Anyone who has the facilities to use any type of MODERN catalyzed paint SHOULD be using MODERN filler.
