You know that when it comes to these darned computers, most of `em will turn on you faster than a G21-35 will backfire and slash a knuckle! (Not on me, of course. This place treated me sweet as can be getting registered and logged in!)

I can turn that function off if you, the users, think you woul rather have a forum where you can just walk in. There is a bit of a "hoop" to jump through, admittedly, but this will not only keep the "Make money" guys and other spammers out, but the only way to make some functions work (such as being able to mark all forums as read, or listing those for the past two days, or "check to receive an e-mail when a new message is posted to this thread" or...well, there are a bunch of features that just won't work without registering.

Of course, we could make it optional. Those who wish to use these features could register and the others just "go along". Your call, guys.

I vote to keep the password.

The OS agrees with Kiiski. So far the password is absolutely no problem.

I'm willing to retain the login feature to avoid the hassles of being spam bait.

Keep the password. It only took me 3 tries to figure how to change it to something I can remember.

I didn't have any problem at all getting in. Win 98 popped up & offered to remember my goofy password so I haven't bothered to change it. So far I like the looks of this place

Login was no problem at all !!!! Can't understand what all the fuss is about !!

On balance I vote to keep the password, that makes it a little more formal but it should keep out the Crasies ( crazies.. SP ?)
And it will take me a while to get used to the new system....

I don't mind the "password" I think it is a good thing for what it is intended.
But when I tried to change it to something familiar, It says something like Improper pass word, Ident already stored, improper ID etc etc etc. I don't know now WHAT password it let me in on. AND DON"T give me that CRAP about missed digets--- Operator error--- It has already said that, and I carefully followed the instructions on the screen--- three or four times.
BIGIRON "T"ed off.
PS This thing must be related to that YAHOO board I never got in to that one and it now has at least six passwords and Idents that I tried and now it refuses all of them. I edited this as when I sign off, I may never get back on (as if I might want to)

I was just kidding!! I'm sorry your so frustrated and irked.
I havn't tried to change my password so I don't think I will with what you are reporting. I did tell it to remember mine though, and wrote it down just in case I need it again later.

I'm sorry to hear that Marv is having so much trouble. I just registered, and immediatly changed my password before coming in here. I had no problem and it went quite smoothly.

Marvin, I had no trouble loging in but this is my second try at a post. Just different way of doing everything. That may be why we all like isky's it is so user friendly!

I am really sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble but I have signed in and out several times with no problem. It was a little tricky changing the password, had to do that a couple of times. Well good luck and hope you don't give up on the forum because all in all I believe the password is a good idea to keep out some of the riff raff. Jerry
