Can this thing be made to remember our names, E-mail and signatures?

Click on "User" in the upper part of the Lobby and then click on "Modify Your Member Profile" and click the "Submit" button. There you will find a section for signature that is large enough for even John Hancock. This signature will appear in the message section each time you post a message. If you kick it down a couple of lines (don't put the signature at the very top of the box) it will appear down the same number of lines in the message box making it easier to begin your message above the signature.

The forum also gives you a cookie when you log in to remember your preferences so you will read the board the way you chose the last time you logged in. Once you have logged in, your name, etc. automatically posts when you post a message. And if you don't log out, you shouldn't have to log in again the next time. It should just log you in automatically with that cookie.
Do remember, however, to check the "Mark All" icon before you leave and then only the new posts from that point will be so marked the next time you return.
