Solid Lines

I have a reel of Pylon .008x52 solid lines,no ends.I've always wanted to try solids but this set is real small. I've never seen this small of solid line.I checked Brodak's Cat. but there wasn't a size rec. for solids and no .008 Can you guys tell me what size solids lines are used for size plane/engine.

Hi Evan!
.008 is used for .049. However, 52' may be too long depending on
your application. Standard would be more in the 35' range.

Years ago we ran .008 solids on 1/2 mouse and scale racers. Had a devil of a time with them sticking together.

I tried to fabricate a set of solid lines once. I threw them away in frustration after they tangled themselves together into a big ball that I couldn't untangle. I'd stay away from them myself but if you must here are deminsions usually used for precision areo flying:

.19-.40 size engines .012 Solid steel

.41-.61 size engines .014 Solid steel

.19-.40 size engines .015 Braded steel cable

.41-.61 size engines .018 Braded steel cable
