The finals are complete. Good weather, sunny skies, mostly winds 5 to 10 kts with gusts later in the afternoon. After completing the first round yesterday with ballooning scores, the second and third round scores could not match
the first round.

On Dondi's second flight, there was something in the fuel system on engine start. The needle valve would not set, so he had to call an attempt. On his last official, there was gusting winds, and he caught a good gust right at the
top of the hour glass and blew out of it. The rest of finals went without too much trouble.

Krystal King also placed 3rd in Speed.
US also placed 3rd for the team in combat.

As usual, Krystal is kicking butt. One of these years, she'll probably be flying combat for the US, as well.

It was pretty good, but just to avoid any possible misinterpretation, I believe that she was 3rd in Junior speed, not 3rd overall. That doesn't take away from her accomplishment in my mind. F2A is an extremely technical event and mastering to this degree is no small accomplishment for even adults.

F2A has another exemplary property - it not a matter of opinion who wins!!
