I haven't been able to get on and, in fact, typically have problems this time each evening. I'm sure it's just a busy site - after all, the R/C'rs outnumber us about 1,000 to 1.

It's probably more like 5,000 to one! But even if you "can" get onto RCO's menu of forums, that's as far as anyone gets after 5 pm anyway (no new messages/replies in the C-L Forum since 5:46 pm, actually). You'll just wait an interminable time and finally be insulted by the Internal Server Error telling you that the problem is something you've done, not really RCO's own moronic fault.

Perhaps I am lucky living in " the Land Down-under " so I get on to everything when you are all asleep so they may be quieter than they are for most of you.

I have not been able to get on since Tuesday night Sydney time. It is now 4.22 am and I still cannot get in and I have tried all sorts of different times. As you say, we are awake when America is sleeping and it is usually not a problem. Who knows?

Seem like in spite of new software, and somewhat more updated server hardware, Edward and his cronies still can't get the place fully under control and now it's back to falling off the edge of the world on a seemingly 3 in 4 chance of when a person might try looking at the forums there.

I have tried for two days -and evenings and nights and mornings. It doesn't matter when as i have used around the clock tries - I can get to the different sections but I get that message that won't allow me in but "sends a message " to them that it isn't working - bull - them people got big problems
I have tried at different times during the day for the last 2 days and can't get past the main menu without an error code.
It's been off and on for me, and I personally have never understood where the internal server error message even remotely sounds like they are trying to blame it on the user. But to each his own I guess.

It used to say something like "note anything you were doing that might have caused this error" . Interpretation of this as a slam of the user strains credulity.

#10 sourceDunno! It loads right down to the CL Forum, and then nuthin'. On the other hand, it loads very fast for a change, no doubt because nobody can get aboard. So there IS a bright side!

SteveIt's pretty clearly a software error. They're using MySql as their server software and it's generating a scripting error on line 69. It claims it has generated an automatic email to the webmaster. MySql is a fairly decent database system, but I suspect they didn't set it up for the load it's having to carry.
I haven't been able to get on in 3 or 4 days. Time doesn't seem to matter. Lots of traffic, I suppose.

Get her to try the CL forum next!
Actually, it seems like a few of the forums work. I was able to duplicate your daughter's experience with "One Percenters..." and the "Newsletters Editors" forum works too. But all the one I usually read are hosed.
I had initially thought it was due to the latest virus. You know how it is... One of these things comes around and clogs up the works and we blame everything on it. But the rest of the world seems to be back to normal. I expect they'll get it fixed in due time.

They may NOT be trying to fix anything. I notice each time I try to go in there is a different number of people in there so they may not be aware of a problem. I wonder if there is any way to alert them and has it been done?

Well at least I now know the problem is on their end and not something involving my system or ISP. I'm still learning about this newfangled technology and sometimes these technical explantions for what went wrong go right over my head. I did get into the Controline Forum somewhat by clicking on the "Stab and wing alignment" thread mentioned on the "Hot Threads" section on the opening page and backtracking from there but it is a bit of a cumbersome way to go. The error message popped up again when any attempt to reply to a thread was made.
