Lets just suppose Brodak does obtain rights (or dies) for the Sterling Ringmaster family, the P-51/Yak, Veco planes, old Ambroid, Berkeley, Dumas, ...., etc. Now, does that place him in a monopolistic position such that the Iron Maiden (Reno) & Injustice Dept. might start investigating him, ala Microsoft. Would they force him to break up into several companies? One for kits, one for dope (DEA might be interested), one for engines, and one for accessories?

You've got to be kidding! Someone needs to sponsor a bill to ammend the constitution to exempt our C/L friends from monopoly laws.

Wouldn't it be great if Brodaks grew big enough to attract that kind of attention? (Hey, Trashcan Man, how is it back there in the "Good Old Days"?) I understand that John Brodak owns 16 different businesses, so maybe he will.

Although it's hardly relevant for those of us at the other end of the Pacific, I thought this discussion a bit of a hoot.

However, in the good old United States, assume nothing!

Like, surely it is only in America that a dead man could be elected to the legislature.

In other countries, dead men vote, they do not get themselves elected!

If they take out the "in" from the injustice department, will it become justless (just--less) ??? Brodak's will only come under heavy scrutny if he donates BIG bucks to the wrong party.

You did realize that Geoff and I were refering to folks who had voted several times AFTER having passed on, didn't you? Certain precincts in Texas (No offense meant to Kiwi, JAK, Al or others from that soon to be third largest state.) as well as in Chicago were the best known residences of the majority of these folks.

LBJ's first Congressional election is one that is still spoken of with awe at how many more votes were cast than live voters were in existence. But WHAT state outside of Alaska would threaten Texas' physical size? There isn't a secret constitutional amendment running around to let us admit Mexico as a state, is there?

(Makes good sense, though, what with California & Texas having about as many Mexican American residents as the total in all of Mexico . . )

Due to some minor regional differences of opinion, the thought of splitting the State of Alaska in half has been bandied about. There seems to be a lot of support for the idea, which if accomplished, would indeed make Texas #3.

While Ms. Reno has departed the national scene, I expect she will figure out a way to stay on the taxpayers nipple. If not, she can do a book deal like Hillary or make maybe join Bill's speaking tour at $100K per pop, or just ask Steven Spielberg, Alec Baldwin, Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda et al to support her. BTW, when is Baldwin actually leaving the country as promised?

While I am guilty of posting various Clinton jokes, and agree completely with Clinton/Reno bashing, I would like to suggest that this is not a good place to discuss political topics. If I get a good George W. joke, I will post it also (the Airforce 1 photo is also mine). Ok, I hate all politicians. It just makes sense, as most are lawyers! Steve

PS/EDIT: Brodak is resurrecting kits from defunct companies, not buying up competition and closing their factories. What I would worry about is John Brodak having family or health problems that would shortly delete the operation of Brodak's Model Airplane Division.

That is a very serious concern - about health that is, not specifically John's but Jim Hunt's, Bob's Dad. He is getting on in years and is in his mid-late eighties? Most of what John has accomplished in the last 2-3 years has been on those larger than life and most humble of hero's shoulders of non other than MR. JIM HUNT!
